Russian: (ПСАЛТИРЬ ПРОРОКА ДАВИДА (в русском переводе Юнгерова) (.DOC) – The Russian Synodal text was paid for by the Russian Bible Society,
a Protestant group. The Holy Synod did exercise its authority to
make sure that this edition conformed to the Orthodox Biblical
canon, and the Russian Bible Society did so, to the degree required
to pass the 19th century government censor and get the Holy
Synod's "imprimatur." But this edition was never approved for liturgical use. The only texts authorized for liturgical use were
(and are) those editions of the Church Slavonic authorized by the
Holy Synod at various times.
